With the devastating flood and rain Hurricane Florence poured on the Carolinas in September 2018, a fellow employee lost their home and all their possessions. With the help of SMS Cares, this employee was able to move out of a shelter and into an apartment. They were also able to begin buying furnishings to start their life back. Grateful for such a program, the employee and their manager provided an update and their thanks in the midst of a life-changing event.
SMS Holdings understands the value of family and the importance of being there in times of need. Unfortunately, an employee received news of the failing health of a loved one. Cashing in on vacation time and PTO would not be enough to cover the time away to visit. SMS Cares was happy to supplement this employee’s pay, as well as, the extra costs incurred while traveling to visit the loved one, in the hope of bringing some peace of mind to the employee in their time of need. Our sincere thoughts and prayers go to our employee during this difficult time of their life.
